Les Bottes Rouges
Based in the Jura, Les Bottes Rouges began with Jean-Baptiste Menigoz, a former special-needs teacher who followed his curiosity for natural wine all the way to the vines, training under Stéphane Tissot before taking the plunge himself. In 2014, he was joined by Florien Kleine Snuverink, former owner of Amsterdam’s Café Schiller, who traded city life for the Jura after learning from Beaujolais legend Yvon Métras.
Today, Jean-Baptiste and Florien farm around seven hectares across Arbois and Abergement, working organically across a patchwork of limestone, clay and marl soils. In the cellar, the approach is simple: native yeasts, no fining and no filtration.
The result is a range of exceptionally drinkable reds and whites that capture what makes the Jura so special. Honest, unpretentious and made for opening another bottle. Just the way we like it.
