iessi
The word 'iessi' is borrowed from Friulan, the language of the little-known region in Northeastern Italy where Nicolas and Romain originally created IESSI.
It means to be, to exist.
It’s pronounced ee-yess-ee.
Inspired by an Italian family recipe, IESSI is a distinctive and unapologetically alcohol-free bittersweet apéritif.
IESSI begins as a story of family traditions.
It was during long summers spent with Nicolas' nonni in Udine, a small city in Northeastern Italy nestled between the Julian Alps and the Adriatic sea, that he first came to love the aperitivo. Think Chinotto, Crodino and of course the classic Campari spritz.
This lively and aromatic alcohol-free aperitif is inspired by Nicolas' Italian family recipe. Pleasant bitterness pairs with the sweetness of cherries, whilst ginger, gentian root, and rhubarb add depth to each sip. A hint of chili pepper ties it all together.
