Cascina Delle Rose 'Rio Sordo' Barbaresco 2019 – an exceptional wine that embodies the beauty and elegance of the Barbaresco region in Italy.

The 2019 vintage of Cascina Delle Rose 'Rio Sordo' Barbaresco is known for its expressive aromatics that captivate the senses. Upon opening the bottle, you'll be greeted by enchanting scents of ripe red cherries, blackberries, violets, and a touch of spice. It's a bouquet that promises a complex and delightful tasting experience.

This Barbaresco exhibits the hallmark elegance and refinement for which the region is renowned. The wine's medium-bodied structure, balanced acidity, and velvety tannins create a harmonious palate that is both sophisticated and approachable. With each sip, you'll uncover layers of flavors, including dark fruits, licorice, earthy notes, and a hint of tobacco.

Giovanna Rizzolio, aided by husband Italo and his young sons Davide and Riccardo, together tend her 3 hectares of vines as sympathetically and naturally as possible. When Giovanna inherited the estate in 1992, she immediately began to modernize, taking her tractor and setting a new course that would realise the first bottling in 2002 and new winery in 2003.

As for the terroirs, the Barbaresco Cru/Vigna Tre Stelle site on the right of the Old Road has a thin layer of earth over pure calcareous soil, while Cru/Vigna Rio Sordo to the left is deep-seated with more clay; stylistically, a perfect reflection of the ethereal, raspberry kirsch Tre Stelle and mulberry-rich Rio Sordo wines.
