Origin: Bugey, Savoie, France
Grapes: Gamay

Rita and Rova is younger Gamay from a plot of south-west facing vines growing in clay-limestone at 300m altitude. The grapes were destemmed and macerated for 3 weeks before pressing off to age in a combination of French and eastern European oak barrels. Supple but very fresh; the full spectrum of sapid dark berries and crunchy cherries; meltingly, gorgeously pure and a hint of earthy wet leaves. Juicy, mouthwatering, and silky. Hands down one of the greatest specimens of Gamay ever bottled. A brilliant and very fine wine. No SO2 added.

This is the second harvest from Chloe and Jordan of Tailleurs Cueilleurs, based in Bugey. Tailleurs Cailleurs (meaning pruners-pickers) are based in the village of Saint-Jean-Ie-Vieux, on northern side of Bugey. Here Chloé Bey and Jordan d'Osualdo farm a number of small plots spread across the area, working organically and biodynamically in order to promote a healthy and active ecosystem around the vines. In the cellar no sulphur is used at any stage and all wines are aged in demi-muids before bottling without filtration.
