Sylvain Bock

Based in Alba-la-Romaine in the Ardèche, Sylvain Bock has been making wine from his own vineyards since 2010, farming organically across a fascinating mix of limestone and volcanic basalt soils.

His approach in the cellar is refreshingly simple: native fermentations, little intervention and nothing unnecessary. The wines have that easy, free-flowing quality we love, but beneath the drinkability there’s a real sense of place — bright fruit, energy, texture and plenty of character.

From juicy, vibrant reds to more mineral and savoury expressions, Sylvain’s wines are a lovely introduction to the wild and varied landscape of the Ardèche.
