Origin: Jura, France
Savagnin from Jura is a fascinating white; with the good ones like this never ceasing to surprise. This Savagnin is made in an oxidative style (purposely exposed to oxygen in the winery), but still so clean and long lasting, thanks to great acidity. Let it open and come to 12-16 degrees to enjoy the ripe stone fruit with a nutty (imagine fortified) touch on nose and palate. Powerful and lingering, but that's not big alcohol related (13.5%). Expect light yellowish colour at pouring, but that comes with the style - it is so fresh and clean. Drink with food please - like seafood or white meats, with simple or with richer sauces; or with cheeses.
