Chardonnay has a history in Baden. Parcels of Chardonnay were planted in the late 1980s and early 1990s when it was still something of a curiosity in Germany.

Sourced from various parcels south of Staufen and in the Kaiserstuhl, this is a perky wine with great concentration. Whole cluster pressed, fermented in used barrels of different sizes before ageing first for 1 year on lees in barrel and then another 6 months in stainless steel.

Elegant with delicate acidity and beautiful salinity. Burgundy-esque.
About the Producer

In love with the wines of Burgundy, two Germans - Christoph Wolber and Alexander Götze met whilst studied oenology in Beaune. At the same time, they both worked full time in some of the largest biodynamic domaines in Burgundy such as those of Pierre Morey, Leflaive and Comte Armand.

Over a period of nearly a decade and having garnered pretty serious Burgundian credentials, they developed a plan to return to Germany and create a cellar in Baden, Christoph's home region. As it turns out Baden is only about 2 and a half hours from Burgundy.

Christoph and Alexander currently farm around 6 ha and purchase grapes from about 2 extra ha. The farming is organic with elements of biodynamics woven in and the winemaking is low intervention.

They released their first vintage in 2016 and today their wines are among the most talked-about wines in Germany. The Pinot Noirs are showstoppers, the Chardonnays compelling and the Weissburgunders are revelatory.

Complimentary standard delivery on orders $100+ within 3 working days. For this option, we are unable to guarantee chilled delivery.

Next Day Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $150+, or $25 flat fee. Orders are delivered from 12pm - 8pm. Next day delivery cut off is at 12pm. Orders must be placed by 12pm to be delivered the following day. Orders placed after 12pm will be delivered the day after. No 'next day' delivery on Sundays; only 1-hour deliveries apply. 'Next day' orders placed after Friday 12pm will be fulfilled on Monday.

There will be no next-day deliveries on Sundays, public holidays or days that the store is closed, unless otherwise announced online.

1-Hour Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $300+, or $35 flat fee. Orders are delivered between 12pm - 4pm. Place order by 3pm latest to receive within the hour. Orders placed after 3pm cut off will be delivered the following day. Please expect delays with unfavourable weather conditions.
