Damien Menut Sauvignon 2020

Damien Menut is based in the village of Thésée in the Loire Valley’s Touraine region which has a long history of organic viticulture and has been home to an enviable roster of accomplished vignerons over the years. Damien arrived over a decade ago to train alongside Bruno Allion, a true godfather of the Loire natural wine movement. While he also did formal schooling in Beaune and a placement at a large Burgundy house, he found his work alongside Bruno to be his most formative experience in his winemaking journey.

Damien looks after 4 hectares of vines planted on deep, clay-rich soils — small parcels of Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon and older vines of Grolleau Noir and Gamay. Like his mentor, he follows biodynamic principles in the vineyard, and in the cellar as much as possible is done by hand, including the de-stemming of grapes.

Utilising a cool cellar carved deep into the tuffeau, Damien ages all wines in old barrique, which gives ample time for them to find their balance before bottling without any additions. His hard work in the vineyard and his slow, hands-off approach in the cellar produces wines of real depth and precision, with an abundance of varietal charm.

Complimentary standard delivery on orders $100+ within 3 working days. For this option, we are unable to guarantee chilled delivery.

Next Day Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $150+, or $25 flat fee. Orders are delivered from 12pm - 8pm. Next day delivery cut off is at 12pm. Orders must be placed by 12pm to be delivered the following day. Orders placed after 12pm will be delivered the day after. No 'next day' delivery on Sundays; only 1-hour deliveries apply. 'Next day' orders placed after Friday 12pm will be fulfilled on Monday.

There will be no next-day deliveries on Sundays, public holidays or days that the store is closed, unless otherwise announced online.

1-Hour Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $300+, or $35 flat fee. Orders are delivered between 12pm - 4pm. Place order by 3pm latest to receive within the hour. Orders placed after 3pm cut off will be delivered the following day. Please expect delays with unfavourable weather conditions.

Wrong Addresses or No Recipients
Please ensure that delivery addresses, particularly for gifts, are entered correctly otherwise additional costs may be incurred.
