Owner and Toji Yamamoto-san, hatched an audacious brewing experiment in the hope that it would fully encapsulate the sake terroir of Akita. The Royal Straight Flush, the five most powerful cards in a deck, all in one hand. These cards represent two most unique aspects of this extraordinary brew, the use of 5 different types of Akita grown sake rice (Akitasakekomachi, Ginnosei, Misatonishiki, Kairyoshinkou and Miyamanishiki) and 5 separate varieties of sake yeast strains (ak-1, no.6, akita no.12, komachi r-5 and akita junmai kobo) all in one fermentation tank. Nutty, fruity and umami, this sake pairs well with meat dishes.

About the Producer

The Yamamoto Brewery sits nestled between a scenic coastal area and the Shirakami Sanchi Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the cold northern town of Happo-Cho, Akita Prefecture.  

Established in 1901, originally producing the Shirataki brand, Yamamoto brewery underwent drastic changes in 2007 when the new CEO, Mr. Tomofumi Yamamoto, decided to transition to Toji and restructure the failing business. At this crossroads, Mr. Yamamoto rebranded under the family name, Yamamoto, with a focus on producing smaller quantities of higher grade, artisanal sake.  

Yamamoto produces a wide range of refined, vibrant and delicious sake, and are known for playing with unusual yeasts and experimental brewing methods to showcase the best raw ingredients of the Akita region.

Standard Delivery
Complimentary standard delivery on orders $100+ within 3 working days. For this option, we are unable to guarantee chilled delivery.

Next Day Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $150+, or $25 flat fee. Orders are delivered from 12pm - 8pm. Next day delivery cut off is at 12pm. Orders must be placed by 12pm to be delivered the following day. Orders placed after 12pm will be delivered the day after. No 'next day' delivery on Sundays; only 1-hour deliveries apply. 'Next day' orders placed after Friday 12pm will be fulfilled on Monday.

There will be no next-day deliveries on Sundays, public holidays or days that the store is closed, unless otherwise announced online.

1-Hour Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $300+, or $35 flat fee. Orders are delivered between 12pm - 4pm. Place order by 3pm latest to receive within the hour. Orders placed after 3pm cut off will be delivered the following day. Please expect delays with unfavourable weather conditions.
