Like an apricot-citrus-herb fruit compote with good tannins. 100% Macabeu with a total of 4 weeks on the skins. After spontaneous fermentation, the Brutal! Orange 2023 matures in neutral demi-muids with a capacity of 600 liters, then bottled unfiltered. Extremely limited, so be quick. Like all natural wines at Matassa, no sulphur or other additives are added; the focus here is on the work in the vineyard, and this is skillfully implemented. Free your mind - Brutal Orange!

About the Producer

Originally from South Africa, Tom Lubbe left for Rousillon to a small village of 300 people and never returned. He started Matassa in 2022 and has since become a cult producer. His vines are incredibly low yielding, giving his wines gorgeous concentration and minerality. His wines are true wines of terroir.

Doorstep Delivery

Standard Delivery
Complimentary standard delivery on orders $100+ within 3 working days. For this option, we are unable to guarantee chilled delivery.

Next Day Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $150+, or $25 flat fee. Orders are delivered from 12pm - 8pm. Next day delivery cut off is at 12pm. Orders must be placed by 12pm to be delivered the following day. Orders placed after 12pm will be delivered the day after. No 'next day' delivery on Sundays; only 1-hour deliveries apply. 'Next day' orders placed after Friday 12pm will be fulfilled on Monday.

There will be no next-day deliveries on Sundays, public holidays or days that the store is closed, unless otherwise announced online.

1-Hour Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $300+, or $35 flat fee. Orders are delivered between 12pm - 4pm. Place order by 3pm latest to receive within the hour. Orders placed after 3pm cut off will be delivered the following day. Please expect delays with unfavourable weather conditions.
