Sat 27 Jun: Orange Wines

Join us in-store on Saturday 27th June for an afternoon of orange wines!

No, these are not wines made from oranges.

Orange wine is the love child of white wine and red wine. Think of the freshness of white wine, with some grip and structure of red wine, with a vibrant personality all of its own. 

Orange wines are white wines made like red wines. Instead of pressing the grapes and immediately removing the skins, the winemaker leaves the skins in contact with the juice for extended periods - this could range from days, weeks or even months. This gives the wine its amber-orange colour, more texture, and a whole lot of new flavours.

We've lined up 6 skin-contact gems from producers near and far: Yetti & The Kokonut (AUS), Momento Mori (AUS), Patrice Beguet (FR) and Jean-Yves Peron (FR). These wines often incredibly food friendly, pairing well with cheeses to charcuterie and even Asian cuisine (all the spice and umami.). Ain't no boring wines here!
