Talloulah Dubourg and Hugo Mathurin of Domaine de Cassiopée are re-imagining the potential of Maranges, one of Burgundy’s humble outlier appellations in the deep south of the Côte de Beaune.

Honing their crafts at Domaines Mugnier and Roulot, 20-somethings Talloulah and Hugo saw the potential of Maranges’ windy, forest-adjacent plots – an appellation traditionally regarded as being too cool to produce ‘fine’ wines, meaning that crops were usually sold off in bulk. Situated just south of Santenay and Chassagne-Montrachet, the appellation of Maranges is divided into three villages. Domaine de Cassiopée sits on the eastern end within close proximity to the premier cru vineyards allowing Hugo and Talloulah to concentrate their efforts on a selection of old and complex vine parcels with great terroir below.

The couple run their 5 hectares Domaine based upon their detailed and dedicated wine training within the renowned wineries of JF Mugnier, Clos de Tart, and JM Roulot. Both born in 1994, this young couple already boast an impressive cumulative resumé, with full training in enology in their back pockets. Starting small, their production includes both red and white wines including Bourgogne, Haute Côte de Beaune, 2 different cuvées of Aligoté, and Maranges, a collection which attracted instant worldwide excitement since their first vintage.

All their wines are pure and mineral-driven, made within humble vineyards with very old vines. Within this strong collection of plots across the region there are Aligoté plots containing 30 up to 100 year old vines! Since taking over the domaine in January 2020, the couple’s dedication to high quality organic farming techniques has transformed these underrated, old-vine hillsides into one of Burgundy’s most exciting terroirs and inspired other vignerons to purchase land there.

Next Day Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $150+, or $25 flat fee. Orders are delivered from 12pm - 8pm. Next day delivery cut off is at 12pm. Orders must be placed by 12pm to be delivered the following day. Orders placed after 12pm will be delivered the day after. No 'next day' delivery on Sundays; only 1-hour deliveries apply. 'Next day' orders placed after Friday 12pm will be fulfilled on Monday.

There will be no next-day deliveries on Sundays, public holidays or days that the store is closed, unless otherwise announced online.

1-Hour Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $300+, or $35 flat fee. Orders are delivered between 12pm - 4pm. Place order by 3pm latest to receive within the hour. Orders placed after 3pm cut off will be delivered the following day. Please expect delays with unfavourable weather conditions.
