Imanishi Brewery's philosophy is "pure and correct sake brewing". Miwa, where the god of sake resides, is therefore a seemingly contradictory element; a transparent and smooth taste that results from a pursuit of perfection, a powerful and mouth-filling flavor derived from use of soyashi water - unique to the Nara region's historical Bodai-moto method - and a complex taste and aroma created by microorganisms that live inside Kioke wooden tanks. The power these unique elements creates an exquisite harmony. Because of the brewing work is done entirely by hand and makes use of wild fermentation, "Mimurosugi Kioke Bodaimoto" has a different personality for each year, reflecting each moment's brewing conditions and each individual Kioke. A once in a lifetime experience, every year, every barrel is different.

About the Producer

Imanishi Shuzo is the oldest sake brewery in Japan situated at the birthplace of sake – Miwa in Nara Prefecture. Mimurosugi (みむろ杉) focuses on the expression of terroir where sake brewing first began and this is considered their “domaine” selection where the water used to irrigate the rice fields is also used for sake brewing. Imanishi-san, together with his team, are also heavily involved in the cultivation of rice used for brewing, adopting low pesticide farming.

Complimentary standard delivery on orders $100+ within 3 working days. For this option, we are unable to guarantee chilled delivery.

Next Day Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $150+, or $25 flat fee. Orders are delivered from 12pm - 8pm. Next day delivery cut off is at 12pm. Orders must be placed by 12pm to be delivered the following day. Orders placed after 12pm will be delivered the day after. No 'next day' delivery on Sundays; only 1-hour deliveries apply. 'Next day' orders placed after Friday 12pm will be fulfilled on Monday.

There will be no next-day deliveries on Sundays, public holidays or days that the store is closed, unless otherwise announced online.

1-Hour Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $300+, or $35 flat fee. Orders are delivered between 12pm - 4pm. Place order by 3pm latest to receive within the hour. Orders placed after 3pm cut off will be delivered the following day. Please expect delays with unfavourable weather conditions.

Wrong Addresses or No Recipients

Please ensure that delivery addresses, particularly for gifts, are entered correctly otherwise additional costs may be incurred.
