Punt Road Pinot Noir 2016 - Temple Cellars

Punt Road's Pinot Noir is typical of the Yarra Valley - light and pretty, with a bright berry and spice perfume and a firm, oaky texture.

Hand-picked followed by a 5 day cold soak in 2t and 5t stainless steel open fermenters. 20% whole bunches with indigenous primary and malolactic fermentation, left on skins for 4 days post ferment. After fermentation the parcels were lightly pressed and racked to a variety of French oak barrels (20% new) where the wine was matured for 10 months. Minimally filtered and fined.

Though Punt Road Wines only released their inaugural vintage in 2001, their story is woven through the history of Victoria. Their vineyard is on the site of one of the first vineyards in the Yarra Valley, first established in the 1860's.
