GRAPE VARIETAL: Grenache
Basalt & limestone soil, 30-50 year old vineyard, 3 weeks of carbonic maceration, 8 months in tabk. 13.5% alcohol. Neck is a tribute to the place where the vineyard is located: just below the neck of Sceautres, which is a big old volcanic roack of basalt. The soil is unique for this region with both volcanic (basalt) and limestone influences. A lot of work is done in the vineyard to get ripe and healthy grapes. Harvested by hand in small boxes, Grenache was picked up ripe enough. Though a fruity and structured wine with a tannic and spicy touch, it remains very fresh for Grenache. The carbonic maceration produces a fresh and vibrant Grenache with good aging potential!
