Origin: Beaujolais, France
Grapes: Gamay

Jérôme Balmet's Tête de Citron is a fresh and juicy red wine made from Gamay grapes. The grapes come from naturally raised vines found in the village of Vaux-en-Beaujolais.

Jérome Balmet grew up in Beaujolais and has been exposed to vineyards and wine since he was a child, above all thanks to his dad who owns a small plot of Gamay from which he produces few bottles, for hobby and private consumption. Jerome learns a lot from his father but is passionate and specialized first by Mathieu Lapierre and then by Jean-Claude Lapalu, both enthusiastic about natural wine willing to share their practical and philosophical experience. Since 2012, Jérome has been renting a Gamay vineyard covering just over one hectare in Vaux-en-Beaujolais, which makes wine in the cellar of Cyrille Vuillod (La Dernière Goutte) using a cement egg for both fermentation and aging.

Jerome is into yoga, meditation and martial arts. Perhaps this is why his wines, like him, express themselves in total freedom with a gentle and a little spiritual attitude.
