Domaine La Boheme Mol 2019
Origin: Auvergne, France
Grapes: Blend of Syrah, Carignan, Merlot, Cinsault, Muscadet and Gamay
Iconic winemaker Patrick Bouju is the man behind Domaine La Bohème. He went to school for Chemistry and there he discovered that he had a sulfur intolerance that made many wines undrinkable. Years later he moved to Beaune to study viticulture, and moved to the Auvergne region to cultivate a small handful of vines, releasing his first commercial vintage as Domaine La Bohème in 2002.
His vineyard is planted on basaltic soils and neighbours the Puy-de-Dome, one of the youngest but now extinct volcanoes in the Massif Central. Patrick also makes wine from vineyards he tends to biodynamically in the Beaujolais as well as a handful of negociant wine. Light red here - a blend of Syrah, Carignan, Merlot, Cinsault, Muscadet and Gamay.
