Azumaichi Junmai Ginjo

Gochouda Brewery, established in 1922, is located in Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture. The brand name, Azuma Ichi represents it’s aspirations to be #1 in the Orient. Azuma Ichi is a local sweetheart of the Saga area for its connection and dedication to the community and the land.

Back in 1988, when cultivation breweries were quite rare, Gochouda Shuzo endeavored to plant their own Yamadanishiki rice for brewing. This was a big challenge as there was no precedent for growing Yamadanishiki in their southern region. The brewers themselves took on the extensive process of planting in the Spring, cultivating all Summer, harvesting that rice and then brewing it in the Fall and Winter to create sake which could express all aspects of the local environment and community. This dedication paid off in 1990 with the recognition of the National New Sake Appraisal in the form of a gold medal for their Daiginjo made with their own home grown Yamadanishiki.

The brewery has since established itself as a producer of consistently high quality, umami rich, elegant sake nationally and internationally.

Standard Delivery
Complimentary standard delivery on orders $100+ within 3 working days. For this option, we are unable to guarantee chilled delivery.

Next Day Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $150+, or $25 flat fee. Orders are delivered from 12pm - 8pm. Next day delivery cut off is at 12pm. Orders must be placed by 12pm to be delivered the following day. Orders placed after 12pm will be delivered the day after. No 'next day' delivery on Sundays; only 1-hour deliveries apply. 'Next day' orders placed after Friday 12pm will be fulfilled on Monday.

There will be no next-day deliveries on Sundays, public holidays or days that the store is closed, unless otherwise announced online.

1-Hour Delivery
Complimentary delivery on orders $300+, or $35 flat fee. Orders are delivered between 12pm - 4pm. Place order by 3pm latest to receive within the hour. Orders placed after 3pm cut off will be delivered the following day. Please expect delays with unfavourable weather conditions.

Wrong Addresses or No Recipients

Please ensure that delivery addresses, particularly for gifts, are entered correctly otherwise additional costs may be incurred.
